	International Cooperation and Support


	The RGJ strategy provides a unique mechanism and opportunity for universities to enhance desirable and sustainable international collaboration. University faculty members in most major subjects may participate in the RGJ program as co-advisors or collaborators. It is quite feasible that the processes will eventually lead to meaningful exchanges of faculty and students, and the long-term goal of forging partnerships for research activities - the basic objectives of most academic co-operation Agreements and MOU's made between Thai and foreign universities. Hence it may be of significant mutual advantages for university administrators and International Office directors to give due attention to the RGJ program and to include it in their academic co-operation programs.

	Furthermore, it is gratifying that a number of international organizations have recognized the merit of research cooperation with Thailand through the RGJ-Ph.D. Program. They have also given supporting assistance for RGJ-Ph.D. students to be able to carry out their research experience in the host countries 6-12 months longer. The international organizations signing memorandum of understanding with the RGJ-Ph.D. program are as follows; 1. The French Embassy in Thailand, France 2. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), Germany 3. The Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC), UK 4. The General Agreement for Scientific Cooperation between the Centre National de la Reserche Scientifique (CNRS), France 5. The National Research Council of Canada (NRC), Canada 6. The Association of International Education, Japan (AIEJ) 7. The Swedish Foundation for International Cooperation in Research and Higher Education (STINT), Sweden 8. The Uppsala University: The International Science Programme, Sweden 9. The University of Bergen, Norway 10. The University of Wisconsin, USA 11. The University of California, Davis, USA 12. The University of Georgia, Athens, USA 13. The Iowa State University (ISU), USA 14. The East-West Center (EWC) and University of Hawaii at Manoa (UHM) 15. The Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), USA
